Best Habanero Salsa! Beautiful and Balanced!

August 10, 2022 by Mark

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I love great salsa and this is the best habanero salsa I ever made or tried.

We make a lot of different salsas at our catering company, we do a lot of authentic Mexican taco bars. I came across this salsa on Serious Eats (a favorite site) and I love the bright orange color so I made it.

This salsa is awesome, spicy, but very balanced but I made one big change! The added vinegar didn’t do it for me and the lime juice can be optional.

Habarnero Pepper

I would go into info about the habanero pepper but if you searched this recipe you already know enough! It’s hot but here is more info.

Let’s Make This Beautiful Tasty Salsa

This salsa will impress you dinners and it is supper easy. What you need…

  • 8 ounces peel carrot chopped
  • 1/2 small onion roughly chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 Habanero peppers
  • 2 Roma tomatoes quartered
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 lime (optional)
  • salt to taste (I actually like to use chicken bouillon or vegetable seasoning)

Here We Go

Put the tablespoon of oil in a large frying pan, add the carrots and a quarter cup of water on medium heat. Cover it for about a couple minutes, this is to help soften the carrots. Take the cover off and add the rest of the ingredients except the lime and salt.

Keep stirring for two minute until everything softens. Let it cool if you want but if your experienced at blending hot things just blend it right away. If it is too thick add a little water.

Almost Done

Add salt (chicken base or vegetarian seasoning) and taste then add lime juice if you like.
